US Benchmark Rate Hikes to 4%... Global Tightening Resumes
For the first time in three years since July 2022, the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, from 3.75% to 4.00%.
This was a unanimous decision, and major countries including South Korea, Europe, and Japan are also joining the interest rate hike cycle with the goal of price stability.
