Philippines Builds Base in West Philippine Sea

The Philippines is proceeding with the construction of a shelter port on Lawak Island, located in the West Philippine Sea and part of the Spratly Islands. This project is a strategic move to strengthen Manila's long-term presence in the disputed region, despite objections from Beijing.
