75-Year-Old Shares Life Lessons

Michael McMahon began his working life as a 13-year-old subcontractor for motorbike repairs, quickly diversifying his skills and experiences over the decades.

His career path included an apprenticeship as an aircraft instrument maker, stints as a truck driver and farm worker, and eventually operating a furniture business that successfully exported goods to the largest furniture retailer in Japan by 1996.

McMahon believes that continuous, daily improvement is fundamental to achieving significant progress over time.

He mathematically illustrated this principle, explaining that one small improvement each day accumulates to 365 advancements annually, fostering substantial personal and professional growth.

To maintain physical health, McMahon walks between 10 to 15 kilometers daily, dedicating half of his day to this physical activity.

His mental regimen involves studying, analyzing, and experimenting with various tasks, such as tracking stock markets around 10:00 AM, emphasizing a continuous process of learning through trial and error.

McMahon stated that he learns by initially making mistakes and then improving with each subsequent attempt.

McMahon identified his biggest regret as not having learned to say 'no' earlier in his life, despite his mother's teaching to care for the less fortunate.
