US Think Tank Proposes Strategy to Neutralize Chinese Aircraft Carriers

The US think tank CSIS has put forward a strategy to neutralize China's aircraft carrier capabilities using submarines, drones, and cyberattacks. Chinese aircraft carriers are highlighted as large, high-value targets vulnerable to such attacks. The five key measures proposed include underwater ambush, distributed missile networks, long-range firepower, cyberattacks, and unmanned systems combined with port blockades.

It has been pointed out that the Chinese navy has weaknesses in its submarine response capabilities. The key to submarine operations lies in the amount of underwater database secured, and China is assessed to have a lower level of data accumulation compared to the United States.

South Korea's Jangbogo-III class submarines are assessed to have significant tactical value in allied submarine operations. The more a submarine is tracked, the exponentially more difficult it becomes to respond. The Jangbogo-III class submarine is equipped with vertical launch tubes, allowing it to fire anti-ship missiles. This is a unique strength of South Korea, not found in US or Japanese submarines, and has been recognized by the US as capable of playing a major role in wartime situations.

The Korean fighter jet KF-21 is scheduled to be delivered to the Republic of Korea Air Force for the first time on September 17, marking its entry into full-scale operational deployment. Simultaneously, various countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, and the UAE, have expressed strong interest in acquiring the KF-21. The operationally deployed model is expected to show a distinct difference in stability and export reliability compared to the prototypes, contributing to increased confidence among overseas customers. To date, six prototypes have successfully completed over 1,600 accident-free flights, proving their performance.
