Real estate analyst Lee Sang-woo meticulously scrutinized Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport nominee Kang Shin-chul's past real estate investments and family-related suspicions.
He explained that this was because he had become accustomed to real estate-related controversies that have continued for the past 10 years.
He then mentioned that maintaining such a detached attitude is important for a successful life.
Many people are very upset, aren't they? But I'm actually not upset. Because I've been upset for the past 10 years.
He satirically suggested that Kang Shin-chul should have gone to Konkuk University's graduate school of real estate or majored in acting instead of the Korea Military Academy, given his strong speculative tendencies.
He added that his delivery and acting skills were notable during the interview.
He pointed out that advice from those who are not close can only be superficial.
He emphasized the paradoxical situation in human relationships where genuine advisors are replaced by flatterers.
He pointed out that four members of Kang Shin-chul's family, including himself, his brother, father, and aunt, secured the status of displaced residents. He explained the process of acquiring displaced resident status by purchasing real estate in areas scheduled for demolition.
He emphasized that military officers serving on the front lines and their families obtained displaced resident status through such an abnormal method.
He mentioned that Seoul city-owned apartments historically selected residents from displaced persons instead of general sales. He stated that in the past, the 'min-do' (civic quality) of residents in city-owned apartments differed significantly from nearby Jugeong apartments and private apartments.
He criticized instances where the family systematically repeated moves in and out to obtain displaced resident status.
He added that this was a case of securing an apartment in the Gangnam area, which has now generated significant market profits.
He pointed out that it recorded abnormally high market profits compared to a military officer's annual salary.
He stated that Kang Shin-chul's son, a young professional, purchased commercial property in June of this year. He highlighted the unusual situation of buying commercial property before even buying a home, and the fact that he borrowed a large sum of money from his aunt and uncle rather than using his own funds.
He mentioned that large loans between relatives are not common.
He revealed that the commercial property purchased by the son is located in Yangji Village, Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si. He emphasized that June of this year was a critical period leading up to the selection of the redevelopment project developer for Yangji Village in Sunae-dong.
He assessed that purchasing commercial property just before the selection of the project developer was a decision timing that surpassed the level of real estate professional knowledge.
He stated that a photo of Kang Shin-chul as a four-star general with his son, who was commissioned as an officer through a specialized officer training program, became controversial. He mentioned that his son continued to use this photo as his KakaoTalk profile while serving in the military.
He raised questions about the minister nominee's thought process during the personnel verification process.
