Piddington Votes to Secede from UK Amidst Immigration Row

The village of Piddington held a symbolic referendum on September 15, 2026, where residents cast their votes on the proposition of seceding from the United Kingdom. The village was notably the first parish granted the privilege to appoint its own minister, a right it maintained until the 20th century. Joanne Dorsey was commended for her empathetic approach and for being the first woman to actively engage with the community regarding the consequences of the proposed plans.
