Russia-Ukraine War Escalates into International Crisis

Ukraine is carrying out a counteroffensive based on Western military and financial support. The conflict between the two countries, which began in February 2022, has become entrenched as a global threat involving the strategic and military interests of neighboring countries.

Ukraine is conducting a counterattack based on Western military and financial support, and Russia is strengthening its ties with Iran, China, and North Korea to counter international sanctions and enhance its military capabilities. This intensifying proxy war between the two sides is leading to the prolongation and escalation of the conflict.

Western countries supporting Ukraine, particularly the United States, the United Kingdom, and other NATO member states, provide long-range missiles, modern tanks, air defense systems, intelligence and reconnaissance assets, as well as significant financial aid.

In the Russian camp, Iran is providing drones and military technology, and according to Reuters, China is supplying electronic components for the military industry and commercial products. This support further intensifies the proxy war aspect of the conflict.

Pope Francis continues to urge for peace, repeatedly calling for both sides to engage in peace talks and for prisoners and detainees to return to their home countries.

The Holy See has made diplomatic efforts, sending envoys to Kyiv, Moscow, Washington, and Beijing, and holding talks with President Zelensky. However, due to the competition among nations to provide weapons and gain military superiority, mediation efforts have shown limited results.

As Russia's offensive intensifies, diplomatic efforts by various countries have not achieved significant results. This situation indicates that international conflict has entered a very dangerous phase.

Along with Russia's intensified offensive, the possibility of North Korea's military intervention is leading the Russia-Ukraine conflict into an even more dangerous stage. The international conflict situation is currently entering a very perilous phase.
