UN Missions Navigate Political and Fiscal Turbulence
UN peacekeeping missions are struggling due to increasing polarization and division among member states, according to Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the head of UN Peacekeeping.
Financial constraints have also forced a substantial 25% reduction in the operational capacity of these missions, exacerbating the challenges.
Lacroix underscored the daily impact of peacekeepers in various regions such as Cyprus, the Golan, and South Sudan, where their presence is crucial for maintaining stability.
