A restructuring plan aimed at resolving administrative inefficiency and improving local government services has been approved.
Guyo Wario, Head of the Oromia Justice Bureau, emphasized that this decision is a historic measure to ensure public interest and explained that it will enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen cooperation among government agencies. This reorganization plan restructures the existing 21 zones into 6 major zones: East, Central, West, South, Southwest, and Southeast.
One of the main goals of the reorganization is to strengthen the responsibilities and capabilities of lower government agencies through decentralization. This aims to transfer administrative services, which were concentrated in the central government, to the local level to provide faster and more efficient services to residents.
The devolution of authority will narrow the gap between local governments and residents, enabling administrative services tailored to regional characteristics.
This bill, which determines the structure of the Oromia State government, was unanimously passed by the Council (Chefe).
