Flydubai Flight, Terror Investigation

Flydubai flight FZ1073, heading from Dubai to Tel Aviv, experienced a sudden loss of altitude while approaching Jordanian and Israeli airspace.

The flight rapidly descended between 14,000 and 17,000 feet for 60 to 90 seconds, then made an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport in northern Saudi Arabia with damage to the aircraft.

Several passengers on board entered the cockpit to subdue the first officer, then handed control over to other unscheduled captains to manage the situation.

A passenger named Yani Bra entered the cockpit and pulled the control column, preventing the plane from further rapid descent.

Yani Bra, despite not having an aviation license, reportedly responded to the emergency based on his experience watching aviation accident investigation documentaries.

Israeli authorities are sharing security verification information with the UAE and conducting an investigation to determine the motive and background of the first officer.

Currently, they are cooperating with UAE authorities to ascertain the background information and motive of the Omani first officer, and have requested cooperation on security procedures and verification information.

Following initial investigation areas like London, Bradford, Keighley, and Oldham, the scope of inquiry has broadened to include Birmingham and Wales, based on testimonies from survivors such as Emily Bone.
