U.S. Seizes Greenland: Why Now?

While Denmark's territorial sovereignty will be maintained, the U.S. plans to strengthen its effective control by prohibiting hostile nations from establishing bases, military presence, or investments in Greenland. This announcement was formalized ahead of the U.S.-China summit at the UN General Assembly on September 22.

Greenland, essential for establishing a strategic defense line connecting northern Canada and Alaska, is a critical geopolitical linchpin for countering China and Russia, beyond mere mineral resource acquisition. An increase in the U.S. military presence is escalating tensions with neighboring countries.

Greenland is located along the primary flight path for intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) launched by Russia, playing a key role in early detection and defense.

It also serves as a crucial point for real-time monitoring of Russian submarine and military aircraft activities. The U.S. is enhancing Arctic security through the introduction of space-based surveillance systems and preparing for the increasing economic and military value resulting from the development of Arctic shipping routes.

China has attempted to open Arctic shipping routes and secure mineral resources through its 'Polar Silk Road' initiative.

It sought to economically subjugate Greenland through capital infiltration, such as airport and port construction, and aimed to establish military strongholds by purchasing naval bases. However, these attempts were consistently thwarted by resolute opposition from the U.S. and Denmark.

The U.S. has declared control over Greenland, prohibiting hostile nations' investments and military base construction.

President Trump is using this as a strategic card to pressure both China and Russia simultaneously, and the U.S. attempts to expand and secure its territory over key strategic points and resource-rich areas are becoming visible.

He has also expressed his will to seize key strategic locations, including Panama and the Gaza Strip, by seeking to subdue the Maduro regime in Venezuela, secure oil resources to fund wars, and mentioning the possibility of securing control over Iran's oil.

The U.S. is simultaneously pressuring China and Russia by pursuing the establishment of a permanent army base in Poland to deter Russia's eastern front and by passing legislation imposing tariffs of up to 100% on countries importing Russian oil.

The U.S. Congress maintains a bipartisan stance on strengthening sanctions against China, continuing high-intensity pressure.

Personally, I interpret these measures as part of a strategic political struggle, and I believe tensions may subside after the summit.

Europe declared an energy emergency as the energy crisis from the Middle East escalated. Specifically, an attack on an oil pipeline from Saudi Arabia caused disruptions in energy supply.

Furthermore, an increase in Russian border terror and drone attacks led to a G7 meeting, and the Polish Prime Minister is warning of the possibility of Russian hybrid attacks.

As war crises escalate simultaneously in the Middle East and Europe, leaders of major countries worldwide are issuing security warnings one after another.

Some evaluate this situation as a third world war already in progress, and concerns are growing about the long-term geopolitical risks globally, extending beyond the U.S.-China summit.

However, forecasts suggest that the stock market will see tailwinds after the U.S.-China summit and midterm elections.

Given the current flood of negative news, it's possible that the market is at its bottom, so investors should consider adjusting their cash holdings or adopting a strategy of enduring until uncertainties are resolved.
