12,000 Troops Deployed for Tense BARMM Election

The national government formally authorized security agencies to assist the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) through Memorandum Order Number 48, demonstrating a strong commitment to electoral integrity. The BARMM Grand Coalition obtained 8 seats, and the Riyata Democratic Party won 1 seat. This distribution means the formation of parliamentary alliances will be central when members convene to choose the region's next chief minister.

The BARMM election recorded a high voter turnout, with COMELEC chairman George Garcia announcing a finalized figure of 84.34%. This strong participation underscores the public's engagement in the region's political future.
