Democratic Party Emphasizes Public Livelihoods with 'Fiery Friday Politics'

They announced three promises: communicating with the public, sharing livelihood issues with the entire party, and jointly solving problems with the party, government, and presidential office. Representative Lee Hoon-ki emphasized, "The Bulsandan makes three promises to the people. First, to communicate with the people; second, to share with the entire party; and third, for the party, government, and presidential office to solve problems together," foreshadowing a public livelihood-focused political initiative.

Supreme Council Member Kim Min-seok mentioned the local residents' regret over the failure of the Daejeon-Chungnam administrative merger, pointing out the unfulfilled promises of previous local government heads. He stated, "The Daejeon-Chungnam administrative merger was frustrated, and in that process, previous local government heads from other parties made promises but failed to fulfill them, leaving residents with regret." He also criticized the insufficient relocation of public institutions despite the designation of innovative cities and promised to review Governor Park Soo-hyun's proposals and support the Chungcheong Universiade.

He explained, "The KTX-SRT integration has so many current issues that it hasn't been sufficiently communicated to the public, but it's a very large project where operational efficiency has led to increased train allocations and lower fares, greatly enhancing public convenience." This demonstrates that government policies are progressing rapidly and yielding positive results.

He pointed out, "The People Power Party is fixated on branding ministerial candidates even before the personnel hearing process begins. Prejudging candidates as criminals is not personnel verification but a people's trial." He particularly defined remarks by People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk as 'abusive language' and refuted bribery allegations against Minister of Justice nominee Kim Seung-won, citing prosecutorial investigation results.

Governor Park stated, "These changes that Chungnam is preparing are also aligned with the direction of the public institution transformation announced by the government." He requested the integration of the five power generation companies and regional support for a just energy transition, expecting a synergy effect between Chungnam's development strategy and national policies.

He argued, "It is appropriate for the integrated headquarters of the newly launched power generation public enterprise to be located in our Chungnam." He emphasized that such a measure is necessary for Chungnam to overcome the crisis caused by the closure of coal-fired power plants and contribute to balanced national development.

Supreme Council Member Choi Min-hee criticized the government's delay in normalizing YTN, citing the court's ruling that the approval of YTN's largest shareholder change, resolved by a two-member Korea Communications Commission, was procedurally illegal. Supreme Council Member Choi emphasized, "The court ruled that there were procedural flaws in the approval of YTN's largest shareholder change, which was resolved by a two-member Korea Communications Commission regarding the restructuring of YTN's ownership. It was deemed illegal." In response, the Democratic Party announced the launch of a Media Publicness Reinforcement Task Force (TF) to promote the normalization of YTN and TBS.

Supreme Council Member Park Seon-won explained, "Investment in growth engines will expand from 62 trillion to 84 trillion won. Government investment in the three mega-projects, including AI, will increase from 10 trillion to 21.3 trillion won, a nearly double increase of 97.2%," predicting that the national debt-to-GDP ratio will improve to 48.3%.

Supreme Council Member Park Seon-won argued, "Yoon Suk-yeol blamed our party for the cause of martial law. It has been revealed that the claim of intending to impeach the prosecutors who led the fabricated indictment, and thus impose martial law, is a blatant lie."

The Democratic Party announced its strict response to any attempts to mitigate the charges of insurrection.

This ruling established an important standard that the scope of convenience provision cannot be narrowed due to financial burden.

She criticized the failure to prevent recurring tragedies despite abuse reports and intervention by local protection agencies, strongly urging institutional improvements.

Supreme Council Member Han Min-soo argued, "It is nothing more or less than an unreasonable lawsuit holding KBS's normalization hostage, as he tries to maintain his position." He criticized the background of his appointment to the presidency after a dialogue with President Yoon Suk-yeol, expressing concerns about the erosion of public broadcasting's independence.

He argued, "If the Supreme Court were moved to a region like Sejong, where land has already been secured, or another area with relatively lower land costs, it would reduce the financial burden while also contributing to balanced national development, making it a win-win situation." He emphasized that relocating the Supreme Court could achieve both balanced national development and budget savings.

Supreme Council Member Kim Min-seok raised suspicions of logical contradictions in the first-instance ruling of the insurrection trial and that it weakened the nature of insurrection. He announced the party's plan to form a TF or designate an appropriate member to examine these judicial blind spots. Supreme Council Member Kim Min-seok stated, "Regarding this issue, before we form a TF, we will designate an appropriate member to examine the comprehensive judicial blind spots that may exist, even though the insurrection trial is currently underway."

Supreme Council Member Kim Min-seok said, "I heard from the spokesperson's office that we will continue to respond to Chairman Han Dong-hoon's incorrect inquiries and questions. Therefore, I hope that Spokesperson Cho Gye-won will handle Chairman Han Dong-hoon's ongoing questions, and the party will not specifically respond to Chairman Han Dong-hoon's inquiries," emphasizing the efficiency of the party's response.
