A tragic accident occurred with the explosion at a tire and paint factory in Cheonan, killing three people. Kwon Mi-kyung, Supreme Council member, expressed concern over the repeated accidents, noting that the facility had experienced three fires in the past four years.

With fatal accidents continuing even after the enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, doubts were raised about the law's effectiveness, citing the case where a responsible party who received a 15-year sentence in the first trial of the Aricell fire disaster had their sentence reduced to 4 years in the second trial. The Democratic Party criticized corporate evasion of responsibility and safety complacency, urging stronger laws and strict enforcement.

Han Byung-do, Supreme Council member, criticized the People Power Party for 'stigmatizing' and 'damaging' cabinet nominees before their confirmation hearing schedules were even set. He specifically pointed out that the claim of Kim Seung-won being a 'Daejang-dong lawyer' was the spreading of false information.

The Democratic Party promised to thoroughly verify the qualifications and capabilities of the nominees through confirmation hearings and to conclude the procedures swiftly, urging the People Power Party to engage in productive verification instead of baseless accusations.

The Democratic Party emphasized the swift promotion of the Honam semiconductor project, stating that the development of a key national industry should not be delayed by unnecessary controversy.

Lee Sung-nyeon, Supreme Council member, criticized the Supreme Court Chief Justice for submitting an opinion refusing to attend the National Assembly, citing the separation of powers, despite being summoned by the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee. He pointed out that judicial independence cannot be a privilege to refuse public scrutiny.

He emphasized that refusing a legitimate request from the National Assembly, which represents the people, is an act that undermines public trust in the judiciary, and that the Chief Justice has a responsibility to explain and clarify before the public.

He added that this appointment demonstrates the national will to become one of the top three AI powers, and reflects the government's determination to strengthen South Korea's AI competitiveness through the appointment of a specialized individual.

The Democratic Party plans to confirm the will of its members through democratic procedures and will proceed with concrete discussions on establishing future relations with the Rebuilding Korea Party. This emphasizes the importance of opposition party solidarity after the general election and shows a flexible stance on future changes in the political landscape.
