The host says the foundation of the new internet will be dApps, or decentralized applications. With these, users could use decentralized financing, lend or borrow, and make various exchanges of tokenized assets.
He argues that government remittance programs and similar establishments will phase out and become obsolete, because users will no longer need a middleman. He says the same applies to banks: if people have cold storage wallets, they will not necessarily need a bank and can become their own custodian and bank.
He contrasts bank lending, in which the bank lends out deposited money and gives little to nothing in return, with DeFi through these apps, which he claims can produce a much greater ROI or APR on one's capital, to the point that the two cannot even be compared.
For remittance, he names MoneyGram and Western Union as the middlemen that would become unnecessary. He claims that through dApps money can be sent and arrive instantaneously with little to no fees, as a peer-to-peer transaction on the blockchain. He concludes that this change will fundamentally alter how people interact and transact with each other.
