Lee Jae-myung's Approval Rating 'Lowest Ever'...Has the Democratic Party 'Lost Its Way'?

Seonwoo Yoon-ho emphasized, "No other poll has ever shown this figure."

This, based on the credibility of PenNmike polls which accurately predicted past local and presidential elections, adds to concerns about the current situation.

He analyzed the causes of this decline by pointing to the failure of youth suffrage and real estate policies, and criticizing the disregard for the voices of young people at Olympic Park.

Kwon Ye-yeong noted, "It continues to decline without any signs of a rebound."

The gap between positive and negative evaluations has widened to over 20%, suggesting that the decline in approval rating is not merely a temporary phenomenon.

According to a PenNmike poll (conducted every two weeks), the approval rating in the Jeonnam Honam region plummeted by 12 percentage points. Kwon Ye-yeong described this as "almost a market crash."

This figure, confirmed in the August 23-24 poll compared to August 9-10, shows that Lee Jae-myung's key support base is shaking. The defection of female supporters in their 20s and 30s is also detected.

During the party convention, the Democratic Party attempted to secure Honam support through various performances, such as the Honam semiconductor strategy and the Starbucks controversy related to 5.18, but failed. Kwon Ye-yeong pointed out, "They showed many performances of cracking down on ridiculous Starbucks and then cracking down on students."

Despite these efforts, the plummeting approval rating in Jeonnam Honam shows that the Democratic Party's policies and communication methods are not adequately reflecting public sentiment.

Kwon Ye-yeong remarked, "He can't come to us, can't win over moderates, and can't do what moderates and the public want."

Policy confusion, such as the reversal of real estate policies, led to a loss of ability to expand to the middle, which is criticized as Lee Jae-myung having lost his way forward.

If the approval rating declines further, there is a possibility it could drop to the 25% mark, suggesting that the Democratic Party's sense of crisis could deepen.

Son Soo-jo said, "They lost the Seoul mayoral election because they wouldn't let people go to Starbucks," criticizing the controversy over belittling youth lifestyles.

In particular, the spread of memes ridiculing 'Young Forty' and the 586 generation acts as a factor that deepens the generational gap.

Son Soo-jo emphasized, "That's more than a three-fold difference."

This stark difference shows that the defection of youth support for the Democratic Party is severe, and that the People Power Party is gaining significant support from young people.

Criticism of the party's power-oriented and closed nature, along with controversies related to 5.18, are deepening the generational gap.

This demonstrates the party leader's horizontal leadership and communicative actions, and it contrasts with the Democratic Party's vertical personnel culture, leaving a positive impression on young people.

The panelists cited "suspicions of electoral fraud and perceived lack of fairness" as reasons.

Criticism of the absence of a voice as head of state, coupled with resentment over attempts to amend laws to avoid trials, is strengthening the negative perception of Lee Jae-myung among the 2030 generation.

The panelists said, "Honestly, we learned about 5.18 in history class, but it was just one of the test questions," raising questions about the sanctification of history education. While respecting the historical grievances of the 40s, 50s, and 60s generations, they stated that the younger generation has not been brainwashed by it.

This supports the argument that education should respect diverse historical interpretations rather than imposing ideology. Criticism was also raised about the selective support and utilization of specific historical events.

This, coupled with selective historical support like the Donghak Peasant Revolution commemoration, instills in the younger generation the perception that the Democratic Party has a double standard.

Criticism was raised that Korean War veterans are not receiving proper treatment. The panelists mentioned, "There was even an article saying that this has never happened even with a 10 million won donation," pointing out the cancellation of veterans' affairs events and the government's inadequate measures.

Along with this, the cancellation of the Starbucks event for independence activists further fueled young people's distrust of the Democratic Party's historical awareness and veterans' policies.

The panelists mentioned, "Parodies and conversations mocking Lee Jae-myung are exchanged within games, like in custom maps."

This shows that the defection of public sentiment is widespread, extending beyond simple political dissatisfaction into the everyday cultural sphere of young people.

In-game parodies and mockery are new ways for young people to consume and express political messages, indicating that anti-Lee Jae-myung sentiment is intensifying.
