China's Economic Struggles Lead to Aggressive Tactics

China is leveraging its near-monopoly on rare earth elements to gain political influence on the global stage. The country mines 61% of all rare earths and controls 91% of the world's refining and processing capabilities. This substantial control over critical minerals provides China with significant geopolitical leverage.

Western nations, particularly in Europe, are now regretting their previous decisions to outsource the infrastructure for critical mineral processing to China. This dependency has become a major concern, as China can use its control to influence international relations and trade.

The intern is suspected of working for a third country, raising significant concerns about foreign influence within critical international security organizations.

Security officials had reportedly flagged the individual for suspicious behavior and for questioning established protocols, ultimately leading to the arrest. This incident underscores the persistent threat of espionage targeting sensitive military and political institutions.

The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is taking action against Chinese-made technology, citing significant national security risks. China currently dominates the global market for humanoid robots, holding an estimated market share of approximately 85%.

These Chinese robots, along with other devices, pose national security risks primarily due to their potential for massive data collection. The ban extends beyond robots to critical infrastructure components, including power inverters used in solar arrays and data centers.

Concerns about supply chain dependency and the potential for foreign adversaries to compromise essential infrastructure are driving these protective measures. The move highlights a broader effort to mitigate risks associated with reliance on Chinese technology.

Critics point to instances like the FBI Director's visit to Beijing as examples of misplaced trust.

Accusations have been made that China actively subsidizes chemical companies responsible for shipping fentanyl precursors to Mexican drug cartels. Furthermore, China's state-owned banks are allegedly involved in helping these drug dealers launder their illicit money, directly implicating the Chinese government in the global drug trade.

Past failures of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to uphold promises made in 2018, 2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025 regarding fentanyl control are cited as reasons for this distrust, suggesting a pattern of non-compliance and continued support for illicit activities.
