Lee Jae-myung's approval rating plummets below 30% among 18-30 year olds

Recent poll results show that President Lee Jae-myung's positive evaluation among 18-year-old respondents was 25%, and among those in their 30s, it was 31%, plummeting below the 30% mark. Conversely, negative evaluations were 53% for 18-year-olds and 60% for those in their 30s, exceeding the majority and showing a deepening alienation of young people's sentiment.

The recently surfaced issue of ministerial appointments was cited as a major reason for the government's declining approval rating. In particular, criticism arose that public opposition grew during the process of nominating an individual involved in a past security command incident as a ministerial candidate. This personnel dispute is analyzed as having further accelerated public sentiment turning away.

Kim Se-jong estimated, based on institutional survey results, that individual investors suffered losses ranging from a minimum of 10 trillion won to a maximum of 50 trillion won in their stock accounts. In addition, the soaring rent and Jeonse prices exacerbated anxiety about the common people's economy, which led to worsening public sentiment towards the current administration.

Kim Se-jong diagnosed that the current downward trend in approval ratings lacks safety measures like stock market circuit breakers to prevent further drops. He predicted that if this situation continues, approval ratings will keep falling, analyzing that the current government's personnel practices are further fueling this decline.

He argued that the shock of people losing money, having their hopes of earning money dashed, and not being offered a path to the next stage even if they save money, was directly reflected in the polls.

Ko Young-chan revealed that negative evaluations in the Chungcheong region reached 64%, and in Incheon and Gyeonggi provinces, they reached 63%. He explained that these figures indicate that public sentiment in the areas near the capital region has also completely turned away. A clear decline in approval ratings is evident in all regions except for the Honam region.
