Kim Eo-jun's public demand for President Lee Jae-myung to declare he will not seek re-election is drawing significant attention to its underlying motives.
He emphasized the importance of sharing the Democratic Party's perspective and presenting a consistent voice, rather than focusing on competition between YouTube channels.
These demands appear to particularly inconvenience Kim Eo-jun's side.
It was pointed out that due to this lack of awareness, many people have mistakenly believed News Factory to represent the common interests of the democratic camp. The emergence of the Minty channel served as an opportunity for public awareness to spread, solidifying Kim Eo-jun's approach to interpreting current issues.
Kim Eo-jun emphasized that the first step in constitutional amendment discussions is for the President to clearly confirm that he will not seek re-election.
His argument is almost identical to the People Power Party's claims, and he continues to raise the re-election issue despite the President's term having more than three years left.
It is believed that if President Lee Jae-myung continues to be mentioned as a presidential candidate, Jo Guk's position could weaken. Therefore, the President must directly state he has no intention of seeking re-election to shift to the next phase and elevate Jo Guk as the next presidential candidate. This is interpreted as an attempt to deliberately present an alternative to Lee Jae-myung in upcoming presidential approval polls.
Chief of Staff for Political Affairs Hong Ik-pyo responded to Kim Eo-jun's question, stating that the President would express his position regarding re-election when the opportunity arises.
