Kyiv's Southern Bridge Hit Repeatedly

This fourth repeated attack, following yesterday's, once again struck a critical transportation route in Kyiv connecting across the Dnieper River.

This attack follows yesterday's incident, making it the fourth time this bridge has been targeted by Russian attacks.

The Southern Bridge, encompassing both road and subway lines, plays a crucial role in intra-Kyiv mobility.

Approximately one-third of Kyiv residents live across the Dnieper River, making cross-river travel essential, so the continuous operation of the bridge is vital.

Previously, the bridge would be closed and air defense deployed during air-raid alerts, but now alerts can last up to 20 hours a day.

Due to these prolonged air-raid alerts, it has become practically impossible to keep the bridge continuously closed.

This drone is designed to explode upon contact with power lines, capable of severing power grid connections without directly striking power plants or substations.

Russia has introduced new drone technology equipped with 'cat's whisker'-like sensing devices to the front lines to effectively disrupt the power grid.

Specific details on the missile's performance or current production capacity have not yet been disclosed.

This combat deployment is expected to be a significant turning point for Ukraine in strengthening its indigenous weaponry capabilities and reducing its reliance on Western allies.
