Kim Ki-heung, People Power Party Spokesperson, "The Left-Wing Government Is Worse Than an Elementary School Class President"

Reports indicate that domestic companies continue to face investment pressure from the U.S. despite contributing 15%, leading major semiconductor companies like SK Hynix to pursue new factory investments in Japan.

Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung stated that the U.S. is demanding investment, viewing the planned investment of over 800 trillion won in the Honam semiconductor complex by SK Hynix or Samsung Electronics as not voluntary.

The Democratic Party claimed that party leader Lee Jae-myung had co-designed and conceived the Honam mega-project during his time as prime minister. They emphasized voluntary corporate participation, presenting it as a plan for regional development.

However, the People Power Party strongly criticized these claims. Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung pointed out that the Democratic Party's remarks were tantamount to admitting that they had forced companies into investment, criticizing it as an unfair act that infringed upon corporate autonomy.

Earlier this year, Chairman Chey Tae-won directly expressed skepticism to Gwangju-area lawmakers about the site selection for the Honam semiconductor complex. He questioned whether Gwangju had sufficient electricity and water supply facilities essential for semiconductor factories, pointing out the difficulties in practical infrastructure construction.

Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung emphasized that Chairman Chey's remarks showed that companies had long ago concluded that Gwangju was not a suitable site for a semiconductor complex. He added that such skepticism could affect not only technical issues but also investment decisions.

The Yongsan Park site is severely contaminated with soil due to the U.S. military presence, and large-scale soil remediation must precede apartment construction. Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung pointed out the pollution problems arising from digging up the ground to build apartments, as well as the unclear costs and responsibility for remediation.

The construction period was also cited as a problem. Significant time is required for soil remediation and site preparation alone, with actual apartment construction expected to take at least 8-9 years. Spokesperson Kim emphasized the reality that buildings cannot be built in the air, criticizing the current government's rental housing construction plan as unrealistic.

In a significant Gallup poll conducted last week, real estate policy was identified as the number one factor for negative evaluations of party leader Lee Jae-myung. This demonstrates high public dissatisfaction with the current government's real estate policies.

According to the survey, 45% of respondents said that real estate taxation and supply policies were unhelpful. Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung emphasized that these results clearly show that the current government's real estate policies are not contributing to market stabilization or solving housing problems. He analyzed that, as real estate policy significantly impacts people's lives, this negative perception is critically affecting Lee Jae-myung's approval rating.

North Korea's overt declaration of a 'hostile two-state theory' has heightened threats to South Korea's security. Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung argued that, in this situation, South Korea must pursue self-nuclear armament or secure nuclear potential to rapidly develop nuclear weapons, similar to Japan. Spokesperson Kim stressed the strategic utility of not only self-nuclear development but also tactical nuclear deployment, particularly maritime tactical nuclear deployment strategies, presenting various scenarios for a balance of terror. He stated that the urgent establishment of strong security strategies capable of effectively responding to North Korea's nuclear threats is imperative.

During its investigation into a hacking incident involving a domestic authentication agency server, the police confirmed that numerous personal details of high-ranking domestic officials, including those from the presidential office, were included in the leaked data, triggering a security alert.

Spokesperson Kim Ki-heung pointed out the risk that leaked personal information could become the foundation for phishing or secondary hacking.
