New Democratic Party Leader Kim Min-seok Replaces 3 Key Department Heads from Jeong Cheong-rae Era

These party officials sometimes go to work in local areas and then return to the central office. It is known that they actually wield more absolute influence in the nomination process than local district National Assembly members. Currently, there is significant dissatisfaction and resentment towards these party officials within the Democratic Party.

The Organization, Strategic, and General Affairs department heads who were replaced had held key positions related to the party's organization, finances, and nominations. They are the main party officials who handle money and organization within the party.

Former Chairman Jeong Cheong-rae, even as he stepped down as party leader, retained all of these key department-level figures. This move could essentially be interpreted as 'entrenchment appointments'.

Jeong Cheong-rae's entrenchment appointments likely influenced specific individuals to receive favorable nominations in the local elections. Such personnel practices are criticized as undermining the party's fairness.
