While the new Malampaya volumes are important, they are significantly smaller than the scale suggested by the Halcon prospect's prospective estimate.

SC80 is also significant as one of the first petroleum service contracts developed under a co-management arrangement involving the Philippine National Government and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

This contract, formally awarded in September 2025, covers offshore territory in the Sulu Sea and involves several stakeholders, with Tetraen as operator and Sunda Energy and PXP Energy Corporation holding 37.5% and 12.5% stakes respectively.
