Ahead of Representative Kim Seung-won's hearing, former emergency committee chairman Han Dong-hoon released 60 recorded tapes, intensifying the truth debate.
She dismissed recent speculation about her resignation and made it clear that she would proceed with the hearing as scheduled.
Despite some suggestions of her possible resignation, Representative Yong expressed this position at a press conference, drawing political attention.
In this process, the media's sensational reporting style came under criticism.
There was also a possibility raised that articles related to former chairman Han Dong-hoon might be 'media play' reported with a specific intent.
This suggests that the key testimony regarding the allegations against Representative Kim Seung-won is fabricated.
Whistleblower Mr. Cho appeared at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office in November 2022 and clearly stated the purpose of his report. Mr. Cho testified that he was making a public interest report regarding former MFDS head Kim Gang-lip, who allegedly processed clinical trials improperly in exchange for money.
He emphasized that his report focused on the misconduct of former head Kim Gang-lip.
Broker Yang, in a call with a third party, bragged about lobbying by saying something to the effect of, "Brother Seung-won and the MFDS head exchanged messages like this, so approval will probably come tomorrow. We need to show some courtesy to Brother Seung-won too."
However, Yang himself testified that he had not heard whether money actually flowed to Representative Kim Seung-won, suggesting that his statements were exaggerated regardless of whether the lobbying was actually successful.
Failure of the licensing lobby was also confirmed in Yang Su-jin's KakaoTalk messages, and the court ruling also did not recognize the 600 million won investment as a bribe for clinical approval.
This is interpreted as a strategy to shift public opinion away from the current controversy.
However, with such a large volume of recordings released at once, political reporters reportedly experienced confusion in understanding the content.
However, the People Power Party leadership opposed Han Dong-hoon's selection as a witness, and a sentiment against his selection was confirmed within the ruling party as well.
An individual believed to be Representative Joo Jin-woo was photographed with his hair completely flattened at the back, attracting attention. This led to some jokingly speculating that he might have just come from consulting with former chairman Han Dong-hoon.
This suggests the possibility of continued questioning on previously controversial issues, such as the Cheongdam-dong bar allegations.
This move by the Democratic Party is analyzed as an attempt to counter-attack former chairman Han Dong-hoon through the hearing, and a sentiment of resentment towards Han Dong-hoon is also detected within the ruling party.
The deployment to Hormuz is reportedly not yet finalized. Results will be reported to the National Security Council (NSC) after the return of the local survey team.
The Deputy Minister of National Defense stated that the deployment is undecided and under review considering national interests, and the Blue House emphasized that various options exist besides deployment, such as technical support.
It was requested that this statement not be misunderstood or misinterpreted.
The President's remark is interpreted as referring to the re-election limitations under the current constitutional system.
