Severely Disciplined Director Kim Continues Yacht Coaching

He is suspended from 2022 to 2026, meaning his coaching qualification is revoked, making it impossible for him to teach. The host emphasized the seriousness of the matter, stating that Director Kim is not someone who should be engaging in coaching activities.

These disciplinary reasons were communicated through a source in the yachting industry, and the host clearly conveyed this fact. Furthermore, suspicions of embezzlement have been raised again even during his suspension period, further escalating the controversy surrounding Director Kim.

Chairman Kim Soo stated that during the period of severe discipline, one cannot operate a marina business, conduct educational programs at the marina, or provide lessons. All activities related to marine sports are prohibited, which falls within the scope of coaching suspension. It was emphasized that a disciplined individual cannot perform any marine sports-related duties.

When the host confirmed the severe discipline, the county office argued that they were merely a facility support department and that related matters should be handled by the matching organization or the business support department. These remarks by the Boseong-gun official have drawn criticism for neglecting the activities of a disciplined individual.

The host criticized Director Kim for continuing to operate despite being severely disciplined by the Korea Yachting Association and thus unable to coach. He pointed out, “If it was revealed that he received a severe discipline and couldn't be a coach, any provincial level should stop it, but he's still doing it.” He criticized Boseong-gun's insufficient immediate suspension measures.

It was argued that this problem was possible because in October 2021, a contract was made with a company not registered as a sports club, as requested by Director Kim, without the permission of the existing contractor. A police investigation into this incident is currently underway, and doubts about the effectiveness and appropriateness of the contract are intensifying.

This involves Director Kim, an employee named Kim, and official Ha, with Director Kim and employee Kim accused of offering bribes and official Ha accused of receiving them. Circumstantial evidence of a meeting near a pension in January 2023 was found, leading to charges of bribery and embezzlement of duties.

Director Kim admitted to being investigated by prosecutors regarding allegations of handing 500,000 won in cash to official Ha before the holidays. He stated, “I have undergone all prosecutorial investigations, and if there are any wrongs, I will accept punishment,” acknowledging the investigation but not revealing specific details. This can be interpreted as an avoidance of the holiday bribery allegations.

Director Kim strongly denied allegations of direct coaching during his disciplinary period from 2022 to 2026 by the Korea Yachting Association. He asserted, “Where is the evidence that I coached? You know I'm not in a position to coach.” He claimed he only served as a sports club representative or chairman, and coaches were responsible for instructing athletes. However, informants provided evidence, including photos of Director Kim directly coaching, refuting his claims.

The host once again emphasized that Director Kim's disciplinary reasons are known to be assault and embezzlement. He clearly stated that during the period of severe discipline, not only coaching activities but also the management and operation of yacht facilities are prohibited. This suggests that Director Kim's current activities at the marina are improper. The production team added that they have secured numerous evidentiary photos of Director Kim managing the marina and coaching students even during his disciplinary period.
