People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk Wore Young Syngman Rhee Necklace at Liberation Day Rally, Condemns Ballot Paper Shortage

People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk stated that for nearly 70 days, he fought alongside citizens at Olympic Park against the ballot paper shortage. He emphasized that the special prosecutor bill could be passed thanks to the shouts of these citizens.

Leader Jang evaluated that this special prosecutor bill was passed without limiting the scope of investigation, which is the result of citizens' persistent efforts.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk mentioned the possibility of the Democratic Party continuing to oppose the appointment of a special prosecutor, expressing concern that a special prosecutor might not be appointed. He emphasized that the shouts of Olympic Park citizens must continue for a proper special prosecutor desired by the people to be appointed.

He added that the method of appointing a special prosecutor by unanimous agreement of six people has limitations that can make the appointment difficult, and continuous citizen interest and pressure on this are important.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk reported that so many citizens gathered at the Olympic Park rally on August 15 that there was no room to stand. He emphasized that the phrase "no room to stand" was the most accurate description.

These large crowds of citizens clearly demonstrated their patriotism and their will to restore suffrage to protect the democracy of the Republic of Korea.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk pointed out that the ballot paper shortage ultimately meant the infringement of suffrage, and the lack of ballot papers in an election, the flower of democracy, was an unthinkable occurrence in the Republic of Korea. He took this as a serious sign that Korean democracy was collapsing.

He stressed that citizens' anger about this situation is very strong, and the current situation is a warning about the fundamental democratic system of the Republic of Korea.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk explained that the young Syngman Rhee necklace he wore at the Liberation Day Olympic Park rally was given to him by a citizen when he went to a rally in Incheon. He stated that the citizen who gave him the necklace specifically asked him to read a speech commemorating the establishment of the government and the 3rd anniversary of liberation at the August 15 Olympic Park rally.

Accordingly, Leader Jang read the commemorative speech, taking time to reflect on the historical significance of the founding of the Republic of Korea.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk strongly criticized the current government for dismantling the prosecution, destroying the judiciary, and ruining the judicial system. He argued that these actions ultimately led to a national crisis in areas such as security and the economy.

He emphasized that unthinkable events like the ballot paper shortage occurred amidst this situation, expressing deep concern about the current government's governance style.

Leader Jang Dong-hyuk emphasized that the nation faces a crucial moment to revive democracy and protect the future of the Republic of Korea. Based on this conviction, he wore the young Syngman Rhee necklace and read a part of President Syngman Rhee's speech on August 15, 1948, commemorating the establishment of the Republic of Korea government and the 3rd anniversary of liberation.

This is interpreted as a symbolic move to inherit the historical values of the founding of the Republic of Korea and to share President Syngman Rhee's philosophy of state affairs once again.
