Defining graph engineering as explicit agent-work graphs
Blumenfeld opened by asking the room who had heard the term graph engineering; only a fair number of attendees raised their hands. He noted that Peter Steinberger had posted a tweet earlier in the year that presented graph engineering as a possible evolution beyond prompt engineering and context engineering, and that the term has attracted considerable hype.
He offered his own definition: graph engineering is the practice of designing agent work as an explicit graph, where nodes do work and edges route state between them.
