The 4050 Semiconductor Workforce Rises: Focus on AI and Semiconductor-Centric Industrial Transformation

As industrial structural changes centered on AI and semiconductors accelerate, workers in their 40s and 50s employed in semiconductor roles are expected to gain an economically advantageous position. Author Park Hong-ki analyzed that amidst industrial hollowing-out, the acceleration of AI and AX (AI Transformation) will make middle-aged and older workers with semiconductor-related expertise play a crucial role. He added that this shift would, in the long term, take on the character of an 'all-out war' with massive national budget injections.

Author Park Hong-ki pointed out that the AI technology level of domestic platform companies like Kakao and Naver lags behind developed countries. He emphasized the urgent need to secure leading AI semiconductor technology and establish an AI ethics, safety, and trust system. He also added that achieving a balance between personal information and data utilization is important.

The industrial roadmap is expected to focus on the advancement of AI and AX (AI Transformation) until 2030. Author Park Hong-ki explained that during this period, efforts will be concentrated on deepening AI technology and accelerating AI transformation across all industries. He predicted that after 2030, there is a high probability of transitioning to a metaverse system called 'mirror space'.

Author Park Hong-ki categorized industrial structure into two pillars: bits (IT) and atoms (physical manufacturing). He emphasized that in the future, the direction should be to apply AI to atom-based industries. This suggests the importance of a convergence strategy where digital technology is more deeply integrated into the production and operation of the physical world.

Author Park Hong-ki explained that the platform economy resembles a structure where a 'building owner' collects 'rent'. He pointed out that platforms preempt human knowledge for free, earning enormous profits, and ultimately, platform operators get everything. In this structure, he stated, we are relegated to merely supplying equipment.

Author Park Hong-ki analyzed that unlike 100 years ago, this crisis allows all indicators to be predicted in advance due to technological development. He projected that this change would lead to a transition to 'state-controlled capitalism' rather than a crisis. This implies a stronger tendency for the state to use technology to control society and manage unpredictable risks.

Author Park Hong-ki identified the food crisis and the resulting price surge as the most concerning issues. He warned that in a situation where AI and AX-based controlled capitalism is strengthened, ordinary people without assets will face greater economic hardship. This suggests the importance of ensuring the stability of the common people's economy in future society.
