Chang Warns of CCP Blackmail Through Exchanges

Xi Jinping's offer to invite 100,000 Americans to China over five years is not a genuine cultural exchange, but an attempt to indoctrinate Americans into communism, according to Gordon Chang.

Chang argues that the program aims to expose visitors to a 'potemkin village' version of China, while also gathering blackmail material to potentially turn American students into future spies or assets.

Ministry of State Security agents and diplomats operating on US soil, as Gordon Chang puts it, demonstrate a mentality where respect for America has been absent for quite some time.

Chang notes that Ministry of State Security agents and Chinese diplomats openly operate on U.S. soil against American interests, and the perceived lack of pushback from U.S. leadership leads Beijing to believe that America is submissive.

Regardless of the original US intent, Chinese officials view the tarmac greeting as an act of subordination, a shift from their previous refusal to provide the same courtesy to President Trump.

This gesture stands in contrast to Beijing's past refusal to offer former President Trump the same courtesy when he visited China, a disparity that Chang argues will dictate China's future operations regardless of U.S. intent.

Gordon Chang called for the President of the United States to candidly address the American public about the current global landscape, emphasizing that it is no longer a time of peace.

He advocates for aggressive tariff policies, including the strict enforcement of the Tariff Act of 1930, to ban goods made with forced slave labor, as crucial economic steps for the U.S. to reassert its dominance.

This measure is proposed to combat Chinese banks' involvement in laundering funds linked to fentanyl and other criminal activities, which Chang argues the U.S. has tolerated for too long.

Gordon Chang argues that over half a century of intensive dialogue with China has paradoxically emboldened Beijing and inflated their ego rather than moderating their behavior.

He claims China strategically uses these dialogues to deter the U.S. from imposing necessary costs for their aggressive actions and illicit activities.

Chang cited two recent attacks on Americans—one on March 1st in Kuwait and another on July 17th in Jordan—which he links to Chinese targeting data provided to Iran, asserting that Americans will continue to be killed until the U.S. changes its approach and imposes real consequences.

During the BRICS summit, Xi Jinping halted his speech mid-sentence and skipped the closing dinner, behavior that suggests underlying physical decline.

Chang also noted that Xi required physical assistance from his wife to descend airplane stairs, an unusual event that implies mobility challenges.

Despite official reports of 4.3% growth in the second quarter, Chang claims the Chinese economy is likely contracting, and Xi’s perceived need to avoid appearing weak will limit his ability to make concessions to President Trump, resulting in few tangible outcomes from any summit.
