Global companies are revising their workforce and business strategies in response to market changes.
Adobe announced that Anil Chakrabarty will assume the role of new CEO on December 1. However, contrary to market expectations, David Wadhwani, who was widely considered a strong candidate, resigned, spreading disappointment among investors.
He had worked at Adobe for 19 years and earned strong trust from the market, leading many investors to view him as the next CEO. However, Wadhwani announced his resignation via his LinkedIn account.
In addition to the new CEO announcement, Adobe faces a larger crisis with the advent of the generative AI era. The proliferation of free AI tools threatens the existing design software market and raises the need for structural changes to Adobe's current employee-count-based billing system. In response, Adobe is seeking new strategies by expanding its AI-based customer experience business.
The final closing price was $266.51.
With global attention now focused on the Japanese stock market, international capital inflows are intensifying. Amid this situation, major British financial group Barclays has decided to re-enter the Japanese cash equities trading business, which it had previously withdrawn from. To this end, Barclays is preparing for the business restart by recruiting two talents from CLSA.
To achieve this, Barclays has recruited veteran personnel from CLSA: Takeo Kamai as Head of Japan High-Touch Sales and W. Kim as Head of Japan International Sales Trading, to provide high-value, customized transactions.
This is not Barclays' first venture into the Japanese cash equity market. It had operated high-touch trading in the Japanese cash market until 2016 before withdrawing due to cost-cutting trends across Asia. However, with the recent boom in the Japanese stock market changing market conditions, Barclays decided to revise its business strategy and re-enter the Japanese market.
