A simulation was conducted to analyze the impact of skills management on productivity and technical debt across 15 randomly created teams, each comprising 5 to 12 engineers. The simulation tracked variables such as skill contribution, utilization, duplication, quality, and security.

The results clearly demonstrated that a lack of visibility into existing skills leads to significant cost increases, degraded quality, and substantial gaps in productivity.
