DOJ Indicts 67 for Election Crimes

In recent weeks, the Department of Justice has indicted or convicted 67 individuals for election-related crimes.

Simultaneously, colleagues at the FBI and Homeland Security have made more than 160 arrests in connection with election integrity.

The current administration's DOJ is actively engaged in cross-checking voter rolls across the nation to remove non-citizen and illegal votes, a significant increase compared to the Biden-era DOJ's prosecution of only 13 election-related cases over four years.

Approximately one-third of U.S. states have cooperated with the DOJ by providing their voter roll data.

These audits have led to the identification of hundreds of thousands of deceased registrants and potential non-citizens on the voter rolls.

Despite some cooperation, the DOJ is encountering pushback from several states, including some traditionally 'red states,' regarding access to their voter data, while Dhillon criticized certain states for sharing sensitive voter information with private groups like ERIC, citing concerns about political bias.

New Jersey officials have attributed the presence of non-citizen names on their voter rolls to a vendor 'glitch,' a claim now under federal scrutiny.

The DOJ is currently conducting an investigation into New Jersey's voting records, with Dhillon suggesting that the state is not fully cooperating with federal data requests, even as U.S. Attorney's offices in New Jersey have initiated limited prosecutions concerning illegal voting.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon issued a warning notice to top election officials in all 50 states, emphasizing that knowingly allowing non-citizens to vote in U.S. elections constitutes a federal crime.

Following this warning, New Jersey officials acknowledged an issue with non-citizen ballots, and many election officials are reportedly cooperating with the DOJ to prevent the cancellation of legitimate votes.

The DOJ recently completed a primary effort, deploying over 100 election monitors to both 'red and blue states' to observe the integrity of the electoral process.

Plans are now in place to dispatch 1,000 observers across the country for the general election, marking the largest deployment of DOJ election observers in history.

These observers, composed of trained legal staff and lawyers from the Department of Justice, will primarily focus on ensuring accessibility and reporting irregularities rather than directly interfering with election operations.

Following the DOJ's warning, Nevada took action to remove approximately 2.5% of its voter rolls, indicating progress in cleaning up state registration lists.

In Los Angeles, the DOJ successfully secured a guilty plea from an individual involved in a vote-buying scheme, and recently, three additional individuals were indicted for identity theft in connection with the same case.

Dhillon confirmed that the total number of election-related convictions or indictments has now reached 67, emphasizing that election fraud investigations are now a formal priority under the current administration.
