State Dinner Photo, Kim Hye-kyung in the Center? Government Protocol Controversy

The photo, despite being of the president, draws attention to Kim Hye-kyung, leading to criticism that it reveals a lack of a Blue House protocol system.

Currently, President Macron and Kim Hye-kyung are positioned in the center.

Critics argued that this photo should not have been released to the public by the Presidential Office.

It was suggested that there are significant protocol issues due to the photo's composition and the direction of the gaze.

At the time, President Park Geun-hye emphasized cultural exchange between Korea and France by mentioning 'Copang,' a Parisian baguette bread from Korea.

Criticism was raised that the Lee Jae-myung government's diplomacy lacks specific messages for national interests.

There have been many talks about Secretary Kim Hyun-ji being called 'V' due to her significant influence.

It was pointed out that the government's opaque personnel appointments further fuel such suspicions.

They claimed that the search was terminated prematurely, not even fulfilling the promised 10-day mission period.

Criticism arose that the decision was made without a single actual ground search being conducted.

The families appealed that the government unilaterally halted the search in a situation where every day was critical.

Criticism was raised that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs only focused on procedural responses without adequate ground searches.

His questioning of President Yoon Suk-yeol's responsibility during the Itaewon disaster was also brought up.

As a protocol controversy over photo-taking during an overseas trip has erupted, his past actions are once again drawing attention.

The families' appeal that the state abandoned its citizens resonates deeply with the public.

This evokes public outrage over the government's inadequate disaster response.

Criticism has been raised that the government is selectively using tragedies. Despite the urgent pleas of missing persons' families in Nepal, the government's immediate response is deemed inadequate. Past incidents like the golf controversy during the Marine Corps member's disappearance or the inadequate investigation into the Muan Airport disaster are cited, contrasting with the passage of the bill to extend the Itaewon Disaster Special Investigation Committee.

Such selective use of tragedies deepens public distrust. In particular, while the Democratic Party led the passage of the Itaewon Disaster Special Investigation Committee extension bill, it is criticized for taking a passive stance on other tragedies.

This raises concerns that political interests may be involved in disaster response.

Opposition to the Strait of Hormuz deployment is reportedly spreading within the Democratic Party.

Various interpretations are emerging regarding his statements against deployment, given his background from the Moon Jae-in administration's National Security Office.

He stated, "We should not be unilaterally dragged along by US demands," which sparked controversy. His remarks were criticized as inappropriate for someone from a military background.

This serves to further deepen the conflict of opinions within the National Assembly regarding the deployment issue.

Assemblyman Kim Byung-joo's past record of acting as a 'bodyguard advisor' for defense companies and intervening to resolve issues related to the defense industry was brought up. Along with this, his past error in mentioning the number of North Korean nuclear weapons was also re-examined.

Questions are being raised about his relationship with the defense industry and the credibility of his security-related statements.

It was argued that the deployment to the Strait of Hormuz is not simply a US demand but an issue directly related to South Korea's security and economic interests. Critics pointed out that the Lee Jae-myung government's opposition to deployment contradicts its past emphasis on economic logic when promoting supplementary budget policies.

This highlights the government's lack of consistency in foreign policy decision-making.

It was emphasized that National Assembly approval is essential for the Strait of Hormuz deployment, requiring a majority of seats. Concerns were raised that if the Democratic Party and Rebuilding Korea Party oppose deployment, National Assembly approval would become uncertain, potentially leading to diplomatic isolation.

With the Trump administration's stance on requiring Korea's deployment being mentioned, future deployment discussions are expected to become more complex.

Concerns have been raised that this could lead to changes in the method of electing the chairman.

It is pointed out that the name change is not merely a change of signboard but could significantly affect the institution's essence and operational methods.

Criticism suggests that the Democratic Party is obscuring the existing procedure for appointing election commissioners as if it never existed.

This leads to a warning that it could undermine the fundamental principle of democracy, the separation of powers.

It is argued that since the early voting system has achieved its goal of increasing voter turnout, institutional changes are possible. Criticizing those who advocate for abolishing early voting as 'far-right' is a distortion of public opinion.

A rebuttal to former Representative Lee Jun-seok's opinion on early voting management issues was also presented.

This indicates a growing public distrust in the early voting system.
