Sound Travels Through Space, Despite Common Misconceptions
While space is commonly perceived as silent, this is only true for human ears, which require a dense medium to detect sound. In reality, the cosmos is permeated by various tenuous atmospheres through which pressure waves, or sound, can travel. These waves propagate through stars and galaxies, demonstrating that sound is not absent from the universe, but rather manifests differently than on Earth.
