Tesla Cybercab Unveiled: A Driverless Ride Experience

The inaugural ride in Tesla's Cybercab commenced with a distinctive boarding experience, emphasizing the vehicle's unique design. The interior immediately stood out due to the complete absence of both a steering wheel and pedals, underscoring its fully autonomous nature. Passengers noted the generous amount of room and overall comfort provided within the cabin. Seat adjustments were entirely automated, controlled through an intuitive interface, allowing for personalized comfort without manual intervention.

This advanced software version is anticipated to be released to the general public in the near future. During the ride, the vehicle's interface clearly displayed real-time travel estimates, providing passengers with transparent journey information.

The Cybercab's in-vehicle controls offer an advanced passenger experience, allowing significant customization via a mobile application. Passengers can edit their destination or change their drop-off point directly through the Robbo Robbo taxi mobile app, providing flexibility during the journey. The vehicle's screen features high pixel density and clear font readability, enhancing user interaction, while the interface seamlessly integrates popular multimedia applications such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Netflix.

Furthermore, the exterior design of the vehicle notably lacks traditional side view mirrors, contributing to its sleek and futuristic aesthetic.

The vehicle operates entirely autonomously, eliminating the need for a safety driver.

Passengers experimenting with the full recline found that their feet could no longer reach the floor, highlighting the generous range of motion provided.

The vehicle displayed natural driving behavior, accelerating and decelerating in sync with surrounding cars. It meticulously adhered to traffic signals, waiting for lights to change before proceeding. The autonomous system effectively managed complex public road environments, showcasing its ability to navigate urban settings.

Grok can dismiss on-screen pop-ups and provide updates on vehicle status and ride information. However, the AI is programmed to deny access to confidential internal launch figures, emphasizing that official announcements should be awaited rather than relying on speculation.

Unofficial reports suggest that the Cybercab fleet, including these early units, is operating on an early build of Full Self-Driving (FSD) Version 15, distinct from the consumer version 14.3 branch. Technical specifications reveal the vehicle is equipped with a 48 kWh battery, achieving an efficiency of 165 Wh/mile. Safety features include an active hood designed for pedestrian protection and a total of 10 airbags. In case of an emergency, a manual charge cable release is discreetly located behind the rear wheel liner.

Some Cybercab units are equipped with flush Starlink dishes, suggesting that the tested vehicle also likely includes this capability, ensuring robust internet connectivity.

Passengers in the Cybercab benefit from a large interactive touchscreen that serves as the central hub for music streaming, podcasts, games, and various media applications. The system allows for extensive customization, as passenger profiles can save preferences for climate and media settings, ensuring these choices carry over between different rides. Occupants can adjust seats, cabin temperature, and fan settings directly through a dedicated mobile app, enhancing personalized comfort.

The Cybercab incorporates an advanced automated passenger detection system that identifies a rider's phone as they approach the vehicle. Once the system picks up the signal from the user's device, the closest door automatically swings open on its own, facilitating a seamless and hands-free boarding process.

Upon arrival, the system provides clear safety instructions, ensuring a secure conclusion to the journey.
