Trump Challenges D.C. Crime Reports, Citing 78% Reduction
Former President Donald Trump rejected media claims that his National Guard deployment had no impact on crime in Washington D.C.
Trump asserted that the crime rate in the city decreased by 78% following the intervention, attributing this success to the removal of approximately 5,000 career criminals and murderers.
He highlighted that a small percentage of individuals are responsible for a disproportionately large amount of crime, stating that 2% of the population causes 91% of crime.
To illustrate the improvement, Trump pointed to the restoration of 38 long-dormant fountains and enhanced park maintenance, which he views as tangible evidence of a safer and more orderly environment.
