Claude Code Stores Hidden Persistent Memory Files on Dev Machines
Jump to 0:26Claude Code has been observed creating hidden persistent files on local computers, saving information across sessions indefinitely. The speaker, Theo, argues that this method of managing codebase instructions is unsuitable. He notes that this practice can lead to a cluttered and inefficient development environment, as the agent autonomously decides what information to retain.
I've even noticed that in claude code recently, it seems to use its memory a whole bunch where it will save things in some magic hidden file somewhere on the computer after you ask it to do something.
