Biotech CEO offers $5 pre-IPO shares in European rights holder
Dan Marcu introduced himself as CEO of Zicha Genesis Medicine, a biotech developing medicines for Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and chronic pain, and moved straight into an offer for shares in a separate vehicle. A pre-IPO, as he described it, raises money before a company goes public specifically to pay lawyers, accountants and auditors, and the current raise is $1 million ahead of the next listing.
The vehicle is Regenerative Medicine of Europe, which holds exclusive rights to the company's drugs for Europe, a market with 50% more population than the United States, according to Marcu. The terms he gave: $5 a share, a 2,000-share minimum, $10,000 total, with a European IPO expected in 9 to 12 months at $10 to $15 a share. Marcu spent 30 years as an investment banker and took roughly 100 companies public, and he used to keep pre-IPO allocations for himself or his closest friends.
