GPT-6 Astra Fact Check

Many people describe GPT-6 Astra as omnipotent, but at the same time, it clearly has clumsy aspects. For personal use, token consumption can be very rapid, leading to increased cost burden. While its visual perception capabilities are excellent, there are still deficiencies in actual feature implementation.

Astra utilized internet resources to even build the city's skyline, demonstrating excellent visual reproduction capabilities.

One of the most interesting aspects of GPT-6 Astra is its excellent visual perception capability. This is directly related to pixel-level location recognition for computer use, significantly increasing the accuracy of mouse clicks and various function executions.

In another experiment, GPT-6 Astra was used to convincingly recreate major areas of Seoul, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Yeouido, and Banpo Hangang Park, in about 43 minutes.

While Fable 5.1 gives the impression of seeing the world in low-resolution images, Astra perceives visual information much more clearly and in detail.

In contrast, Fable 5.1 took 1 hour and 25 minutes but successfully implemented core features like police and gun usage, albeit with lower graphics.

GPT-6 Astra showed excellent aesthetic elements and appearance but disappointing performance with core mission-critical functions. Fable 5.1, on the other hand, demonstrated a better ability to understand and execute user intentions by implementing specific interactions such as a police system and gun usage.

GPT-6 Astra can produce results in less time, leading to high efficiency in revision work. This rapid iterative capability holds great potential for continuously improving the model's quality.

GPT-6 Astra has a plausible appearance but crude internal functions, yet it has a strong advantage in rapid improvement speed. Conversely, Fable 5.1 is highly rated for its superior ability to understand user intentions.

The drawing mission requires complex processes such as brush control, line coordinate setting, and learning unfamiliar programs. GPT-6 Astra demonstrated superior computer control capabilities by producing significantly better results than Fable 5.1 in this mission.

GPT-6 Astra's computer control capability is truly astonishing, showing excellent performance in various computer usage missions besides drawing. However, these features consume a very large number of tokens, leading to rapid reach of usage limits.

Therefore, its efficient task performance capability leading to overall cost reduction is noteworthy.

With the advent of GPT-6 Astra, the scope of AI utilization is expanding significantly beyond coding to non-developer roles such as architects, 3D modelers, and video editors. This signifies the arrival of an era where AI can directly operate professional software like AutoCAD, Excel, and Final Cut. This change suggests that the entire knowledge work market could be incorporated into AI replacement, signaling a major restructuring of professional job environments.

Through Greg Brockman's interview, it has been confirmed that OpenAI's model improvement strategy has fundamentally changed. After April 2024, OpenAI had been incrementally improving existing models but realized the limitations of this approach. Facing the rise of competitors like Anthropic, OpenAI has now decided on a company-wide overhaul, redesigning from the ground up. This is interpreted as a strategic shift to significantly enhance model performance.

While Anthropic achieved early success by focusing on coding, OpenAI has focused on learning various modalities such as drawing, voice, and video. These multimodal capabilities play a decisive role in screen recognition and comprehensive understanding when using computers, leading to a re-evaluation of OpenAI's strengths.

GPT-6 Astra is regarded as the first AI model to significantly advance computer usage capabilities. As the first AI with a usable 'eye' and the ability to perform tasks for extended periods, it has laid the foundation for actually executing human task-unit work. This means that the competitive standard in the AI industry is shifting from simple coding ability to computer usage ability, establishing Astra as a true 'game changer'.

The emergence of GPT-6 Astra once again highlights the need for hardware infrastructure investment across the AI industry. The rise in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index and stock prices of memory-related companies reflect this rekindling of the AI CapEx war. The correlation between memory stock prices and the AI CapEx war will require detailed analysis in the future.
