Philippine Coast Guard Proposes 40,000 New Personnel by 2030
Jump to 6:50The Philippine Coast Guard has submitted a proposal to the Department of Budget and Management, seeking to add 40,000 personnel to its ranks by 2030. This ambitious target aims to significantly boost the PCG's operational capacity as it prepares for a substantial fleet expansion. While the existing personnel levels are adequate for the current structure, they will be insufficient to man the new vessels and manage increased operational demands.
This proposed increase is still undergoing review and has not yet been approved or initiated for recruitment. The Coast Guard recognizes that a larger, more capable fleet requires a corresponding growth in human resources to ensure effective deployment and sustained operations across its varied missions.
