After the Democratic Party's national convention, as harsh remarks were made by Chairman Kim Min-seok at the Supreme Council meeting, members of Team Jeong Cheong-rae remained silent, raising concerns about legal risks.
This appears to be a result of their recognition that continuous factional remarks could lead to isolation and disadvantage them in the next general election. Consequently, it is assessed that they have officially shown a change in attitude and are adjusting the intensity of their statements starting today.
It is pointed out that Team Jeong Cheong-rae's influence has significantly diminished with the emergence of the public opinion poll manipulation incident. It has been observed that all members, except for Lee Jong-won, are maintaining silence. In particular, Lee Jong-won is facing the possibility of judicial processing, and the fear of complicity is believed to be spreading throughout Team Jeong Cheong-rae.
While he still maintains a critical perspective, the intensity of his previous strong expressions is believed to have decreased.
Even writer Yoo Si-min, honestly, his sharp edge was much blunted today. Yes. It's still a somewhat cynical remark, but the sharp edge has dulled.
They believe that resolving the issues of public opinion manipulation, fake party members, and dual party membership mentioned by Chairman Kim Min-seok are essential measures for the Democratic Party to be reborn as a healthy party. Chairman Kim Min-seok's side emphasizes that these issues cannot be covered up due to concerns about internal party conflict.
Consequently, analysis suggests that they are extremely worried about their involvement in the public opinion poll manipulation incident. It appears that the fear of being implicated as accomplices if the investigation expands is at play.
In a situation where conflict continued after the national convention, Chairman Kim Min-seok swiftly took control of the atmosphere by mentioning an investigation into public opinion manipulation and phantom party members. This hardline stance increases the likelihood of an investigation into Lee Jong-won. Lee Jong-won faces the possibility of arrest and a prison sentence, with a warning that attempts to destroy evidence, such as discarding a mobile phone, could immediately lead to arrest.
