Lee Jae-myung's Approval Rating at All-Time Low of 33.1%

This figure suggests that entering the 20% range is imminent. Generally, an approval rating falling below 35% is interpreted as a signal for a rapid drop into the 20s.

Jang Ye-chan stated, "Finally, Lee Jae-myung's approval rating is on the verge of entering the 20s. It has fallen to 33.1%," expressing concern that negative public opinion about Lee could further spread during the upcoming Chuseok holiday family gatherings.

In addition, difficulties are expected in coordinating the confirmation hearing schedule for Assembly member Yong Hye-in, and a fierce debate between ruling and opposition parties is anticipated over whether to hold the hearing before Chuseok.

While this is higher than the 33.1% from the New Delhi ARS survey, considering that phone interviews reflect public sentiment slower, the actual approval rating could be even lower.

Jang Ye-chan stated, "Lee Jae-myung's approval rating also came out at 38% in the Korea Gallup survey. Around Chuseok, that Gallup survey will probably also hit the early 30s, and the ARS will hit the mid-to-late 20s. It seems Lee Jae-myung's lame duck status accelerating after just one year is becoming a new normal.", predicting that Lee Jae-myung's lame duck period will accelerate as a new normal.

Analysis suggests that economic factors had a greater impact on the approval ratings of these generations than ideological support.

Jang Ye-chan pointed out, "A dead cross appeared in the 40s and 50s. This is because people in their 40s and 50s are just as, if not more, sensitive to real estate and stock markets as those in their 20s and 30s, aren't they? When economic issues are touched, when their livelihoods are affected, no matter what ideology, no matter how much they dislike the People Power Party, or call it a rebellion party, it doesn't resonate, does it?" He explained that economic dissatisfaction caused by soaring housing prices, rising interest rates, and stock market losses spurred the departure of those in their 40s and 50s.

This is interpreted as a warning that Seoul could become a 'graveyard' for the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung. Jang Ye-chan stated, "The approval rating in Seoul came out lower than in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. This means that if even a by-election for mayor of Seoul were held next year, it would be the graveyard of the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung. To my knowledge, there has never been a presidential candidate who lost in Seoul and won the election." He emphasized the importance of the Seoul region.

The fact that no presidential candidate has ever lost in Seoul and won the overall election highlights the profound impact of Seoul's public sentiment on the total election results. The current low approval rating in Seoul could pose a serious crisis for the Democratic Party in the upcoming Seoul mayoral election.

This phenomenon goes beyond a mere drop in approval ratings; it indicates that the Democratic Party's traditional support base is shaking. The sentiment in the metropolitan area, in particular, serves as a bellwether for national elections, making this situation even more concerning.

The future recovery of public sentiment in Seoul is expected to have a decisive impact on the political fate of Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party.

It was pointed out that attitudes or remarks that do not meet public expectations could backfire, negatively impacting approval ratings.

Within the conservative camp, there is significant anticipation that the confirmation hearings will be an important political event as Lee Jae-myung's judicial risks intensify. Jang Ye-chan stated, "Do not voluntarily resign or withdraw the nomination before the confirmation hearing," revealing the conservative side's true desire for Lee to proceed to the hearings without an early resignation or withdrawal.

This is interpreted as a strategy to maximize the exposure of Lee's weaknesses and inflict political damage through the confirmation hearing process.

Internal divisions are emerging within the leftist camp due to the government's push for the deployment to Hormuz, an issue aimed at reversing public opinion. Particularly within the leftist camp, rooted in anti-Americanism, conflicts over supporting or opposing the deployment are deepening.

Jang Ye-chan mentioned, "Even Democratic Party members categorized as pro-Lee, like Kim Byung-joo, who is a four-star general, are saying we shouldn't deploy to Hormuz." This is interpreted as a sign that Lee Jae-myung's control within the party is weakening, as even Assembly member Kim Byung-joo, considered pro-Lee, opposes the deployment.

In particular, the use of the term 'litigant' during his commemorative speech is interpreted as a direct naming of Lee Jae-myung, targeting his involvement in trials and obstruction of judicial procedures.

Jang Ye-chan analyzed, "A litigant should not interfere. This was a direct naming of Lee Jae-myung, telling him not to interfere." He assessed it as unusual for a Supreme Court Chief Justice to publicly target a specific politician.

Jang Ye-chan stated, "I think the other Supreme Court justices also need to have courage and say that even the President must stand trial. It is necessary for the Supreme Court's official position to come out quickly."

This is interpreted as a suggestion that, based on public trust in judges, the courts should fulfill their role, and the Supreme Court should issue official guidelines to adjust the pace of trials.

Issues regarding the mismanagement of the Yeosu Island Expo have been raised, with criticism of 70 billion won in budget waste spreading. In response, Yeosu Assembly member Ju Cheol-hyun is avoiding responsibility, bringing to the surface internal conflicts within the Democratic Party where blame is being shifted. Jang Ye-chan commented on the current situation, saying, "The Yeosu Island Expo is out of control, and it's completely failing, so that person, Ju Cheol-hyeon, who is the Yeosu Assembly member, says, 'I didn't do this.'"

Assembly member Ju Cheol-hyun is reportedly deflecting responsibility to the previous mayor, drawing criticism that the Democratic Party is focusing more on blaming each other than solving the problem.

Jang Ye-chan highlighted the internal conflict, stating, "As Lee Jae-myung's approval rating falls, Kim Eo-jun and Yu Si-min say it's because he didn't listen to us. The pro-Lee faction says it's because you people held him back."

This situation, where even external commentators like Kim Eo-jun and Yu Si-min are being mentioned in connection with responsibility for the declining approval rating, leads to analyses of potential self-destruction due to the overall division within the leftist camp.

Jang Ye-chan stated, "We should go to the site. Because we're not going there to mock its failure, but to ask what the difficulties are, it seems not to be going well, and we want to cooperate," suggesting an approach that goes beyond mere criticism to express cooperation for problem-solving.

This is interpreted as an intention to attract media attention to reveal the reality of the expo, compare it with the Jamborees case, and highlight the current government's inability to solve problems.

The People Power Party's position is to strengthen the Democratic Party's responsibility through the site visit and demonstrate its will to solve problems as the government and ruling party.
