Tesla Announces Upcoming Roadster and Semi Reveals

Tesla's official account released a teaser image with the date October 1st and the short phrase "Launch Ready."

Digital invitations have been sent to reservation holders, and detailed information about the next-generation Roadster is expected to be officially announced at this event.

Four streams of exhaust traces were spotted on the dark silhouette's rear aero wing in the revealed Roadster teaser image. When the image is inverted, these traces resemble cold gas thrusters used for spacecraft attitude control.

This suggests an acceleration method that propels the vehicle directly without wheel rotation, interpreted as a technology to maximize the car's driving performance.

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, has been mentioning since 2018 that the Roadster would feature thrusters, allowing it to achieve 0-60 mph in under 1 second. He hinted at the possibility of a SpaceX package, emphasizing that beyond mere acceleration, the vehicle could possess short-distance flight capabilities, briefly lifting off the ground.

Musk has consistently referred to thrusters providing short-distance flight capabilities for the Roadster, and this connects to the exhaust traces in the teaser image, raising expectations for the Roadster's innovative features.

If this technology were applied to commercial vehicles, it is predicted to bring significant changes to vehicle propulsion methods and transportation efficiency.

Lars Moravy, Tesla VP, previewed the Roadster as an "insanely awesome event." The Roadster holds symbolic significance as the last sports car to be driven manually by people before fully transitioning into the autonomous driving era.

Tesla's official Europe and Middle East account announced the official entry of the Tesla Semi into Europe on September 12th. Dedicated motor specifications tailored to European market standards were also revealed, with deliveries to European customers expected to begin in 2027.

The physical Semi truck is scheduled to be unveiled at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover, Germany, and is anticipated to be an optimized model reflecting Europe's transport regulations and speed limits.

This model achieves an excellent energy efficiency of 1 kWh per kilometer, optimized for Europe's speed limits and operating conditions.

This is expected to provide high efficiency in the European logistics market.

For logistics companies, how much can be transported at once directly impacts revenue.

Therefore, Tesla is first introducing a configuration closer to a lighter, standard model in the European market, rather than a heavy, long-range version. This decision prioritizes securing loading capacity for logistics companies.

The Tesla Europe page labels this model as 'Semi Standard Range,' indicating that the model being launched immediately is closer to a standard version rather than a long-range one. The European Semi is equipped with the same 548 kWh battery as the US standard version and features camera mirrors in compliance with European regulations.

It uses 4680 cylindrical battery cells and delivers a maximum output of 800kW based on independent motors. The driver's seat is centrally located, and interior comfort has been enhanced.

The specifications have already been released before the exhibition. Based on pilot operation experience in the US, mass production will begin in 2026, with European deliveries targeted for 2027.

Pricing and charging infrastructure development remain important challenges for the future.

European influencer Alex commented, "The Semi is coming to Europe. Now the truck industry will change."

In particular, Tesla's autonomous driving technology, without a driver, is emphasized as a long-term vision that will transform the paradigm of truck transportation systems.

This project will provide educational support to 640,000 students and 60,000 teachers.

In collaboration with Google for Education, AI lesson training will also be conducted, aiming to accelerate the digitalization of the educational environment.

Honduras's education infrastructure currently has very low digital connectivity. Out of approximately 17,500 schools nationwide, only about 2,000 have internet access, a mere 7%.

Approximately 7,000 schools lack even electricity supply, and access to digital learning platforms is only about 2.5%, indicating a severe information gap.

The reason Honduras chose Starlink is due to the limitations of physical cable connections in mountainous terrain with weak terrestrial base station infrastructure. Starlink only requires a dish antenna for connection and offers advantages of being faster and having lower latency than existing satellite internet, making it an effective alternative for bridging the information gap.

However, for this project to be successful, the combination of independent power supply devices such as solar power is essential, and resolving the burden of future operating and maintenance costs remains an important challenge. Satellite internet emerges as an alternative for essential infrastructure development, but additional infrastructure expansion, including power solutions, must accompany it.
