"Don't open the door to anyone"... Horror Game 'Can I Come In?'

The protagonist is left alone at home in the game 'Can I Come In?'. Before leaving, the parents strongly cautioned the protagonist, "You'll be alone at home tonight. Remember the most important rule: you must not open the door to anyone." This warning is the core rule of the game and a crucial premise for the events that will unfold.

Before leaving, the parents left a to-do list on the refrigerator along with several precautions. They specifically re-emphasized being wary of strangers, stating, "New neighbors have moved in and are doing construction, so don't be surprised by loud noises. Most importantly, never open the door to anyone." This warning feels like an ominous premonition rather than just a simple request.

The protagonist was given a mission: they could only play computer games after completing all the chores left by their parents. The list included sweeping the floor, putting dirty clothes in the bathroom laundry basket, washing dishes, taking out the trash, eating food from the refrigerator, and doing homework. The game can only proceed once all these household tasks are finished.

When taking out the trash, the protagonist meets a neighbor. The neighbor asks if the protagonist is alone and gives an enigmatic warning: "Tonight's the night. Don't open the door to strangers, okay?" The neighbor's cryptic admonition amplifies the protagonist's anxiety and foreshadows future events. This warning seemed to imply a direct threat, different from just the parents' caution.

Sounds of a doorknob turning were heard inside the house. When the protagonist opened the door, no one was there, but they sensed a disappearing presence. "Who was trying to open the door? That sound. It was the doorknob turning. No, they're gone again. Why do I never see them when I look?" the protagonist questions in fear. The mysterious entity continuously disappearing before their eyes presses on the protagonist's psyche, amplifying the mystery.

This document provides a clue to the situation outside the house and the terrifying atmosphere surrounding the protagonist.

The protagonist learns that Dr. Petkov is behind the hospital incident. Through a document, the shocking truth is revealed: "He was the culprit. Dr. Petkov. That bastard experimented on people for years, and this time, he seems to have truly revived something. But what was revived is no longer human." The content revealing that Dr. Petkov conducted cruel experiments on people and that the revived entity is no longer human clarifies the true nature of the horror. This suggests that lurking is not just a mere ghost story but a dreadful entity born from the side effects of scientific experimentation.

This shows the protagonist's compassion and, at the same time, a dangerous choice to ignore the parents' warning and face unexpected circumstances. However, they cannot shake the suspicion that this whole situation might be someone's scheme or setup.

This implies that the truth of the incident is even more intricately entwined.

This suggests that the situation the protagonist faces is not a simple prank, amplifying the anxiety.

The protagonist is faced with having to open the safe inside the house. The password clue was: "Darling, if you need to take documents from the safe, you'll need to solve the password. The clues are as follows: How many pictures are there in this room's 3rd spot? How many beds are there in our son's room? How many floor lamps are in the living room? How many kitchen towels are hanging in the kitchen? How many paintings are in the bathroom?" The protagonist must go through the cumbersome process of checking the number of specific objects in the house to deduce the password. This highlights the inefficiency of the password setting method while also presenting another mission to explore various parts of the house. These clues contain information about the family members' characteristics and the house.

The mother warns once again not to open the door to anyone.

The man the protagonist meets again outside the house reveals that he lived in this house before the protagonist's family moved in. The man begins, "A long time ago, before your family moved in, I lived in that house with my wife and grandson." He continues, "There was a fire. If I hadn't been drunk, if I hadn't fallen asleep with a cigarette, they would still be alive. My grandson, Deniska," confessing that his wife and grandson Deniska died in a fire two years ago due to his carelessness. The man explains that his family, now ghosts, have returned tonight for revenge, revealing a shocking truth.

The protagonist is conflicted between the parents' warning not to let strangers in and the man's request but decides to accept the man's proposal to protect their family.
