Israeli Supreme Court unanimously overturns decision to exclude Arab parties from elections
The Joint List alliance, along with Mansour Abbas's Ra'am party and Sami Abu Shahadeh's Balad party, have regained eligibility to run in the general election following this ruling. The High Court of Justice determined that the Elections Committee's exclusion decision did not meet legal standards, thus checking the Netanyahu government's attempts to suppress Arab political representation.
With this ruling, the Joint List alliance, Mansour Abbas's Ra'am party, and Sami Abu Shahadeh's Balad party have regained the right to run in the upcoming general election.
The court ruled that the Central Elections Committee's decision to exclude Arab parties did not meet legal standards, thereby putting a brake on the Netanyahu government's attempts to suppress Arab political representation.
