Park Geun-hye Attends People Power Party Workshop

Former President Park Geun-hye attended the People Power Party workshop, leading to active discussions on party unity and future development. Kwon Yeon-seo, Headquarters Chief, stated that the People Power Party is in the process of normalizing as the main opposition party and a conservative party in South Korea.

Former President Park's appearance is analyzed to be a turning point for the party's approval rating rebound and an important cornerstone for the reconstruction of the conservative party.

The overseas and constituency schedules of lawmakers who were absent from the workshop attended by former President Park Geun-hye were pointed out as unjustified excuses. Kwon Yeon-seo, Headquarters Chief, said that those who were absent either faced situations unfavorable to their own faction or had been at odds with President Park Geun-hye.

These absences are interpreted as being due to factional conflicts and past animosity with former President Park Geun-hye, suggesting that the uncomfortable feelings of bystanders during the impeachment crisis played a role.

The Democratic Party and the Rebuilding Korea Party criticized the People Power Party's return to conservatism. In response, Kwon Yeon-seo, Headquarters Chief, mentioned the video of President Moon Jae-in played at the Democratic Party's national convention and asked if that wasn't a return to the extreme left.

It was argued that the People Power Party is inherently a conservative party, and a return to conservatism is necessary for the party to survive. Issues regarding internal management of the Rebuilding Korea Party were also raised.

Kwon Hyun-seo, Headquarters Chief, stated that the approval rating immediately increased the moment former President Park Geun-hye made an appearance. Currently, the approval ratings for Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party, and the Rebuilding Korea Party, as well as the pro-government bloc in general, are on a downward trend.

The People Power Party's approval rating is showing an upward trend, and it appears that a check and balance sentiment is at play.

Kwon Hyun-seo, Headquarters Chief, stated that President Park Geun-hye's re-entry into politics itself would be the greatest opportunity for conservatives. There is anticipation within the conservative camp for former President Park's return to politics.

Her appearance is possible if her health problems recover, which is also compared to National Assembly Speaker Cho Jung-sik's remarks on constitutional revision.

Former President Park Geun-hye is scheduled to attend the workshop after 4 PM. The host stated that internal cohesion issues within the People Power Party are expected to be discussed quite importantly.

This workshop is anticipated to be a message to internal divisive forces within the party.

Restrictions on the opposition floor leader's remarks and threatening language within the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, as well as opaque operations such as delayed notification of meeting times, were also cited as problems. It was argued that this disregards National Assembly customs and infringes upon the opposition's authority.

Representative Seo Young-kyo advocated for a separate response to the Jeju incident. Representative Joo Jin-woo pointed out the limitations of police investigative powers, raising fundamental questions about whether the police can fully exercise investigative powers to protect the lives and safety of citizens.
