Sudan Denies Supporting Ethiopian Rebels

A coalition of seven rebel groups aims to overthrow the Abiy Ahmed federal government, with battles between government forces and rebels, primarily the TPLF (Tigray People's Liberation Front) which ruled Ethiopia for 30 years, unfolding in the northern regions.

The African Union analyzed the large-scale casualties of the civil war from 2020 to 2022, estimating that approximately 600,000 people died.

In particular, the TPLF's official broadcasting station building in the Mekelle region was damaged by an airstrike.

Ethiopian Chief of Staff, Marechal Eranuwa, claimed in a video message that the TPLF rebels are receiving support from external forces.

He identified Eritrea, neighboring Sudan, and Egypt as being behind the TPLF, but the mentioned countries vehemently denied the allegations.
