Antifa Attacks Reported at 'Stop Nick Shirley Act' Protest

Protesters have gathered at the California State Capitol to oppose Assembly Bill 2624, which they refer to as the 'Stop Nick Shirley Act.' Fulfur reported being punched and stated his car door was smashed against his head during the assault. He further alleged that his assailant then feigned victimhood to a security guard, enabling their escape from the scene.

"And from behind me, I hear, 'Get the f out of here.' And as I go to turn, I get hit. I fall off the tire, but land on my feet."

A local activist and member of a veteran coalition promoted an upcoming meeting designed to discuss veteran issues and state legislation. The activist provided contact details for veterans interested in joining the movement in California.

An investigator present at the rally made serious claims about systemic corruption within state developmental services, alleging that specific care homes receive exorbitant payments. She stated that some homes are paid up to $30,000 per person per month.

The speaker further alleged that one company with 20 consumers receives a total of $6 million in annual payments, suggesting widespread fraudulent activity. She also reported that officials allegedly threatened her son to deter her investigative work, adding a layer of intimidation to the alleged corruption.

Protesters from Rio Vista traveled to Sacramento to join the rally, stating their primary objective as combating fraud and working to 'save California.' One attendee expressed, "Uh just walking around supporting the the cause, you know, get rid of fraud. Trying trying to save California."

Reporter Ben Bergquam referred to opposition members as 'Antifa thugs' and highlighted confrontations that occurred earlier in the day. He noted that California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers and local police had intervened to manage the interactions between the groups.
