Tom Harwood: UK Needs Culturally Selective Immigration

Tom Harwood, a commentator on GB News, pointed out that Indian immigrants in the United Kingdom frequently surpass native Britons in both educational achievements and average income levels.

Conversely, Harwood noted that Pakistani immigrants statistically demonstrate lower educational attainment and income, presenting a stark contrast in integration outcomes within the UK.

Harwood asserted that one of the most interesting differentiations to draw is between Pakistani and Indian immigration.

Harwood cited the Sunak family as an exemplary success story of integration within the UK, showcasing a positive outcome of immigration.

In contrast, he described certain segments of immigration, specifically mentioning Mirpuri immigration, as a clear failure, suggesting significant challenges in their integration process.

He further explained that geographical origin, such as the underdeveloped Mirpur region, might influence integration outcomes and that families like the Sunaks were a marvelous integration story, but some Mirpuri immigration has clearly been a massive failure.

Harwood advocated for a departure from the UK's current neutral immigration policy, proposing instead a system that considers cultural compatibility.

He argued that Britain should implement stricter entry criteria for immigrants from certain cultures, imposing a significantly higher hurdle for them.

As justification for these stricter criteria, Harwood highlighted that 72% of Somalis in Britain live in social housing, suggesting that immigration standards for individuals from Somalia should be considerably higher than for those from countries like Holland.

Harwood emphasized that the UK needs to be able to state that some cultures need to have a lot higher of a hurdle for people to immigrate to the United Kingdom.
