Major Companies Adjust Bitcoin Holdings Amid Market Shifts

Several firms have been adjusting their Bitcoin allocations, with notable increases from some major players. SpaceX now holds 18,712 BTC, marking a significant investment in the cryptocurrency. Coinbase has also expanded its holdings, reaching 17,300 BTC, indicating a growing commitment to Bitcoin within the crypto exchange space.

Conversely, some companies have reduced their Bitcoin exposure. Marathon sold approximately 15,000 BTC during the bear market, while Riot and Hut also made slight reductions. However, other entities continue to accumulate, with Clean Spark consistently adding about 600 BTC monthly. Strive, under the ticker ASST, stands out with a substantial holding of 25,000 BTC, positioning itself as a significant holder in the corporate Bitcoin landscape.

Analyzing the Net Asset Value (NAV) premium for crypto-exposed companies reveals how the market values their Bitcoin holdings. MicroStrategy, for instance, has a NAV premium of 0.79, which means investors buying one of their shares effectively receive a Bitcoin equivalent worth approximately $1.27. This indicates a relatively strong market perception of its underlying assets.

Strive, in contrast, demonstrates a NAV premium of 1.4, suggesting an even more favorable market valuation compared to its Bitcoin holdings. Other companies also exhibit diverse premiums: Marathon's premium is 1.59, and Clean Spark leads with a premium of 3.16. These variations underscore different investor confidence levels and strategic positions within the crypto market.

MicroStrategy strategically managed its balance sheet this week by opting against At-the-Market (ATM) stock sales. Instead, the company utilized its cash reserves to repurchase MSTR shares, injecting approximately $139 million back into its own stock.

The primary objective of this buyback is to restore the MSTR share price, aiming for a potential 'flywheel' effect. A higher share price enhances the company's ability to acquire Bitcoin more efficiently in the future, reinforcing its Bitcoin acquisition strategy.

MSTR stock has experienced a gradual recovery trajectory since August 2025, demonstrating a slow but consistent climb. Despite this steady ascent, the stock has not spent extended periods near the $100 level, reflecting the challenges of maintaining a stable price point.

Michael Saylor, a key figure in MicroStrategy, has aimed to stabilize the MSTR stock price around $100. Achieving this target could enable investors to receive a 12% interest on their assets, provided the price stabilizes. The overall strategy emphasizes investor confidence as a critical component for long-term success.
